EASY COCKTAIL SAUCE RECIPE! SUGAR FREE | LOW CARB | KETO FRIENDLY!

Super Bowl is just days away and if you are going to be having or attending a fun, game day party, this is a recipe you may enjoy! As you know Rick and I are doing what we can to eat lower carb. Not necessarily Keto, but we are eliminating sugars, breads and starches the best we can. That means regular ketchup is out of the question. It also means that if we want cocktail sauce for our steamed shrimp, we have to find alternatives. This sugar free version of my homemade cocktail sauce hits the spot and fills the need. We are using a great new brand of sugar free ketchup we found at the store and it is the perfect substitute for our favorite brand. Sometimes you have to do what you can to stay on your path! #GHughessugarfree #cocktailsauce #sugarfree #homemade #recipe #noreenskitchen

This cocktail sauce starts out like my regular version, with ketchup. However now we need this to be lower carb and that means sugar free. Ketchup is necessary in life and in a lot of different recipes. I was tasked with finding one that was comparable to our favorite brand but was sugar free and affordable. After a lot of searching we found the G. Hughes brand of ketchup and BBQ sauces. They are all sugar free with minimal ingredients and no preservatives! You can actually pronounce all the ingredients. They are low carb and very, very tasty. That last thing is important. Truthfully, we are kind of choosy about ketchup and we are loyal to one specific brand. However their “reduced sugar” version is much more expensive and higher in carbs and when I saw this sitting right next to it, I though I would give it a try. This cocktail sauce is super simple to throw together. It takes minutes to make and can be enjoyed immediately but benefits from a few hours in the fridge. Just mix everything up together and you're good to go! Along with the ketchup I add lemon, horseradish and tabasco sauce to mine.

This is a classic recipe that I have been using my entire life. perfect for dipping peel and eat shrimp, crab, lobster or even fish sticks. It is zesty and tangy with just a little bit of heat. If you are a fan of the Original Bookbinder's cocktail sauce, you will love this. Sugar free or not, it is definitely a keeper.

I hope you give this sugar free version of my favorite cocktail sauce a try sometime soon and I hope you love it! Be sure to check out the G. Hughes brand of ketchup and BBQ sauce. I think you will love it as well!
